Ever wondered why pruning trees is beneficial, especially for fruit trees? 

Come learn pruning basics from the experts and help prune trees at the orchard in England Park. Nashville Tree Foundation is hosting a “Pruning and Pints” night from 4-6pm on August 4, 2018 at England Park in the Nations.  

Volunteers will learn how to properly prune trees from 4-5pm from Dean Glascock of Arbor Art Tree Care and David Cook with the Tennessee Ag Extension office followed by a social hour from 5-6pm at 51 North Taproom on 51st Avenue near England Park.

Registered volunteers will enjoy their first local beer (must be 21 or over) or frosty soft drink on us!  Registrations are full.  Join the waitlist below.

Volunteer to help Nashville's urban forests.

We depend on volunteers to help us achieve our mission of enhancing our urban forests.  We need volunteers who can help at these exciting upcoming events:

  • Pruning and Pints Night* - August 4, 4-6pm, England Park
  • Hands on Nashville Day training for Green Shirt Volunteers*, August 18, 9:00am - 11:00am. 
  • Hands On Nashville Day 2018* - Sept 22, 9 am - 12 pm:  Plant trees at 10+ Metro Nashville Public Schools
  • Taking Root - Sept 23 to Oct 13:  Help distribute 800 small container trees at 8 Farmers Markets.

Are you 18+ years and have completed three NTF tree-planting events, or a horticulture professional (landscaper, arborist, master gardener)? You qualify to be a Green Shirt Volunteer! These special group leaders help train others and supervise tree plantings at events throughout the year. Come join our team!
